New replacement buildings for Gemeinnützige Baugenossenschaft Röntgenhof Zürich (GBRZ)

From Senn Resources AG we have received the assignment to carry out hydrogeological, geotechnical and soil contamination examinations in the GBRZ area on the corner of Hohl-/Freihofstrasse in Zurich-Altstetten. Planned are new replacement buildings for an existing housing complex with a total of nine stories including a basement (underground car park). Aim of this construction ground probing is to elaborate the geological, geotechnical and soil contamination knowledge basis for estimating possible additional expenses caused by geotechnical factors or existing soil contaminations. Furthermore, it’s planned to provide heating for the whole building complex by a groundwater heat pump system.

For this purpose, a number of slit trenches were carried out and the ground material analysed for possible chemical contaminations. Meanwhile, two test wells are being drilled in order to evaluate the potential for groundwater utilisation.
